All decked out for the BrisStyle indie Twilight Markets

Contingency plans, ahoy! The hard working BrisStyle committee had their peepers glued to the BOM site all yesterday (which apparently made for some interesting viewing). Lots of yellows and reds, not to mention the slate coloured clouds lurking behind the city buildings, interspersed with clear blue skies, meant that our markets still went ahead last night, but were relocated above King George Square to 'the Deck'.

Here's me setting up. I shared a stall with the lovely Moose & Bird.

Our new venue made for great shopping and socialising. I got to have a wander and a chat with lots of lovely BrisStylettes, as well as having a sneak peak at what was on offer. Here's a bit of what I saw:

shelleyberelli presents ... new drawstring bags

Drawstring bags have also been keeping me busy in the lead up to the BiTM. Perfect for keeping special things safe when you travel (or even around the house) - shoes, lingerie, jewellery or anything that needs a place of its own.

shelleyberelli presents ... new zippered purses and clutches

I've been otherwise occupied for most of 2011 and haven't really done much sewing since the flurry of activity around the 2010 Nov/Dec BrisStyle markets. Pity, pity, pity as a few of my lovely friends (props must go to the tres generous Akiko and Antoinette) have been o/s recently and brought me back brown paper packages, wrapped up in string ... and filled with delightful and interesting fabrics. I even had a trip to Melbourne's Tessuti fabrics - so the fabric pile's been calling me, like a siren song, but I've somehow resisted their charms.

Well, these glorious 5 days off from work have given me the much needed space to be back at the Bernina. I've whipped up a few new special treats for Friday's BITM. Below is a sneak peak at some of the purses and wristlets I've made. Drawstring bags to follow.

Festival of April 20th

I'm not sure how I came across this festival. It involves taking a photo an hour for 12 hours on the 20th April. I first took part in 2009 and was in a work orientation day. Lots of photos of shoes, exit signs, interesting lights and shadows. I was still fairly desk bound today, but had a little more freedom ... whilst keeping my workplace fairly anonymous. Below are 12 photos from my day. Here are others' photos.

Let's go shopping .. for some dessert ingredients

Hoi hoi, it's time to join in again with BrisStyle's 'let's go shopping' meme. I've been inspired by the pav I'm whipping up for a BBQ on Sunday - my tastebuds are already in overdrive thinking about licking the bowl. Here are some delicious and tasty morsels I've found on etsy to whet your appetite. Bon appetit!
